The Union Island Tourist Bureau released a calendar of events for 2023. It features eight events from February to December.
The first event on the calendar is the Union Island Conch Festival which will be held from February 24th to 26th.
Union Island Easterval will be held from April 2nd to 10th. The Island’s overall atmosphere is lifted at Easter with this annual Festival. The event is aimed at reviving interest in the sailing traditions of Union Island and is centred on boat racing, sports, beach picnics and parties.
Island Maroon, which is hosted mainly by the Imani Cultural Organization in collaboration with other groups, will be held in May. This annual festival is held the week of the full moon, marking the start of the planting season. Activities include the Big Drum, Nation Dance and traditional folksongs.
The second half of the year will feature Restaurant Month from June 1st to 30th.
Summer Getaway will be held in July and August, and the Model Boat Regatta will be held on October 27th.
Tourism month will also be held in the second half of this year from November 1st to 30th. The year will culminate with the hosting of Fireworks and Street Meet on December 31st.
